The Smithtown Community Band (SCB) presents a series of five free outdoor weekly concerts on the grounds of the Smithtown Historical Society Frank Brush Barn during the Summer of 2024.  The Smithtown Community Band will reach for the stars and explore the final frontier of space. "Starry Nights" will celebrate the artists and compositions that  were inspired by their curiosity  with the night sky.  The series highlights will include guest vocalists Georgeanna Piazza and Carolyn Mistretta, Smithtown Strings, Transitions Saxophone Quartet, The Silver Chords Chorus.  Additional highlights will include a multimedia video presentation accompanied and synchronized to the live performance of the SCB, all projected on a large screen. Local artists have been invited to create visual art works (painting, sketches, sculpture) influenced by our night sky displayed prominently during our weekly concert series. The series will be presented on the beautiful grounds  of the Smithtown Historical Society's Frank Brush Barn. Bring a chair, or a blanket and a basket dinner, and enjoy our 38th summer of performances under the stars.
