About the Smithtown Community Band

The Smithtown Community Band (SCB) was founded in the summer of 1987 by Director, William Link. Since its formation, the SCB has proudly served the Township of Smithtown performing over 140 concerts.  SCB has had the pleasure of working with the Smithtown, Nesconset and Kings Park libraries, the Village of St. John’s, the Smithtown Recreation Department, the Smithtown Township Arts Council, the chambers of commerce in Smithtown, St. James and Nesconset,  and the dedication ceremonies for Constitutional Boulevard located at the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge.  For ten years, the SCB has enjoyed a partnership with the Smithtown Historical Society presenting Free Outdoor Summer Concerts on the grounds of the Frank Brush Barn in Smithtown. In 2024 the SCB will continue our partnership as we present “Starry Nights" a series of five free, weekly summer performances exploring the music and artists that have been inspired by our night sky. The SCB has 75 members, ranging in age from 15 to 80, who share the common goal of "making music," and we are always looking for new members. If you would like to join the band, click on our "Contact Us"  tab and complete the contact form. You may also contact us at smithtowncommunityband@gmail.com or call us at (631)275-0443.
