Smithtown Community Jazz Ensemble

Formed in 2016 by current NYU student Andrew Golub, the Smithtown Community Jazz Band is an offshoot of the Smithtown Community Band that enables a group of talented young jazz musicians to come together every summer and recreate the music of famous big band writers such as Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie and more for the enjoyment community of Smithtown and beyond. This summer, the band will be playing sets on Tuesday nights in July from 7 - 8pm. These concerts will feature the veteran players from around town to illustrate how timeless this music is, and to allow this music to reach as many people as possible. In addition to these dates, the band will be playing venues such as The Jazz Loft, Smoking Al’s, Treme and more as the summer progresses!
